This pretty statement Cowrie shell design is my version of some ethnic, tribal creations.
I used hemp to crochet it, then I hand-stitched the shell on - All 38 of them!
It can be worn flat on your upper chest, or tightly around your neck, as a choker! I added 11" long ties on both ends. They are finished with a tiny shell.
It measures 1 4/8" at the center and is 12½" long.
I have plans to make a beaded version of this design - adding small glass beads.
